Getting to the Island
FLY - DRIVE - FERRY - DRIVE
OR
FLY - LIGHTRAIL / UBER - FERRY - SHUTTLE
If you're out of state, we recommend flying to SeaTac and taking an uber/lyft or carpooling to the Seattle Ferry Terminal. You could also take the Link Lightrail from SeaTac to Pioneer Square, which is just a few blocks from the Ferry. That way you can walk straight onto the ferry with your luggage and skip the line of waiting cars.
From there, you'll take the Bainbridge Island Ferry and catch a view of the Seattle skyline. Also, wine, beer, pretzels, and chowder are served on the "Tacoma" ferry. It is very, very cute.
Check the WSDOT website for current ferry schedules. Once you arrive at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal, Islandwood is just a 10 minute drive away. Uber/Lyft on the island is scarce.
UPDATE: We will have a shuttle to take guests to and from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal & Islandwood on Friday and Sunday.
This means, you don't need to rent a car unless you'd like to! If you do bring a car, it'll likely sit in the Islandwood parking lot from the time you get there until you leave (because you'll be so busy partying). If you have any questions on how to get there, please reach out to one of us!

What to Wear
COCKTAIL ATTIRE
If you ask us, you'll want to stand out to fit in at this party. Think florals, ruffles, flares, feathers. When else were you gonna wear that dress anyway?
Considerations: Our ceremony will be on a lawn, so you might consider block heels. Dinner will also be outside, so you might also want a sweater. But if you're staying with us you can always run back to your room since it'll be a short walk away from the wedding.

What should I pack?As for clothes: If you're staying for the weekend, you'll want something to wear to the rehearsal/welcome dinner on Friday night, pajamas of course, casual clothes for Saturday morning's activities- hiking, running, yoga, or chilling. Since it's August in the PNW, you might also want sunglasses, sunscreen, and sandals. For the wedding on Saturday afternoon, pack something formal and fun. Ruffles, sparkles, florals, fringe, bring it on. We will be on the lawn for the ceremony so you may want to wear block heels or flats. The reception dinner will be on the lawn as well, so you may want a sweater or shawl as the sun goes down. The post-dinner disco will be inside and plenty warm. And then, another comfy outfit to wear to Sunday morning breakfast and checkout. Extra stuff: • Linens & towels will be provided in your rooms, but if you want to make things extra cozy, you might bring another blanket.
-
Can I bunk up with my friends?Yes, how fun is that!! And it'll be cheaper if you do. If you select a queen bunk room, you could share with 6 or more people! But you absolutely can have your own room if you'd prefer.
-
What's there to do between events? All guests have access to 250 acres of trails to explore on Islandwood's campus for running/walking/hiking. You could also explore the island and visit the shops on Winslow way, just a few minutes from campus.
-
Where do I park? There is plenty of parking onsite at Islandwood! You can park your car and leave there it until you checkout.
-
Will there be Disco?Yes, obviously. Please come prepared with your best dance moves. If you don't have any, Dr. Clark will be there to instruct.
-
Can I BYOB?Nope!!! Please do not bring alcohol. Islandwood is a charitable organization so outside drugs and alcohol are not permitted. Beer & wine will be served at meals & events!
